I usually start a very busy week with a management catch up, we discuss several new design and branding projects that we need to focus on. We also have a brief chat about any ongoing campaigns and any new business development ideas.
After a quick check of emails I relay any messages to the rest of the team which includes briefing the design team about new projects. This week we have been working on re –brand for a food client, the designers have been focusing on competitor research and creating mood boards. We are also planning photography for another food client that will form the main image for their new packaging design which means liaising with our photographer as well.
A quick conference call with our healthcare client is the next task on my list, we are in the process of designing three reports for them which have to be produced within a very tight deadline. Ensuring they have a breakdown of what is happening and making sure they are happy with the progress we have made so far is essential.
We also have a new work placement that has started with us and I make sure I have quick chat with them before lunch to make sure they have settled in well. At The CLIP Group the start of the week is always very busy which means half the day flies by incredibly rapidly!
After some delicious lunch, with various snacks courtesy of our very own food clients I have a quick chat with our PR director. The PR clients have numerous food projects, photography and events happening and I need to ensure all the design and creative work for the PR is allocated accordingly. We have had several new PR clients join our portfolio recently and as a creative agency many of them also require design and creative services.
By the time its mid-afternoon I finally have a chance to start working on a pitch for an upcoming branding and design project which may also involve photography too. Brainstorming, researching and putting ideas together is one of my final tasks of the day.
My day does not end there, a local networking event beckons! A quick check of the emails and a quick word with the designers whilst grabbing some business cards leads me swiftly out the door and towards a busy room of professionals.
Networking and new business development is imperative for a growing creative agency and a successful evening of meeting new people, catching up with acquaintances and the swapping of business cards ends a very productive and eventful day.
